One pope has died, two have died, three have died… and those who will die! Now it turns out the last one was good, and the next one is even better. Shit! In these depraved times, before the apocalypse, where the most reactionary right manages to make its discourse resonate, before a society annihilated and only concerned with likes on social media, injecting shit relentlessly, inoculating fear, massacring lands and civilians where life isn’t worth a gram of cobalt or gas, much less the truth, evicting families, protecting locksmiths, security armies, and doorstep saviors of the fatherland, and further feeding investment funds and arms holding companies, filthy Zionists! Faced with a left that no longer hits the mark, lost, sold out, aimless, and shameless, in a general state of despair, selfish, cruel, that has lost all capacity for solidarity and analysis and goes no further than the headlines, where information doesn’t exist and mere entertainment, manipulation, lies, and the most vulgar insults prevail.

This is how we are judging, criminalizing and crushing the weakest and migrants, so that there is not even a hint of rebellion against those who truly crush, deceive, and lethargic us. This is how it goes for us, and just as we allow and justify all these atrocities, we swallow that this pope or that one is good, forgetting that there is no good pope or church and that they are all just diversions so that we don’t go out and set fire to the streets as soon as possible, to harm those who truly oppress us while they point us at which fucking white cloud or screen to look.

There is little left for us to finally wake up from this dream that is real and also Bourbon; little more than attitude and lyrics like those of Rat-Zinger that storms the heavens, what the hell? the sidewalks, as always at street level, with their new onslaught of raw, stark reality. Five new smash hits like “Todos los malditos policías” (All the Damned Cops) featuring Wattie from Lions Law to resurrect the spirit of One Way System and the more metal-minded Exploited with in-your-face guitar-driven punk-rock; the metalhead and also unstoppable powerhouse “Mi vida sin mí” (My Life Without Me); the rabid punk-rock with point-blank solos of “Calibre 12” (Caliber 12) featuring Tupa, former vocalist of the punks Acidez from Mexico City; a look from the darkest part of the heart at the great Johnny Cash and the resounding NIN with “Sólo soy dolor” (Only I Am Pain); and “El tiempo nos dar la razón” (Time Will Give Us the Reason), which is streetwise, knife-wielding hard-rock from the school of the unrepeatable Quemando Ruedas.
