Santi Eizaguirre has sold out tickets for the presentation of his latest album

The appointment is on the 25th at Casa Orlandai in Sarrià and a new date has already been announced in Barcelona
On October 18, he will present the new video clip “Pol oposat”

After selling out the tickets for the presentation concert of his new album “Com un segon origen”, Santi Eizaguirre presents a new video clip demonstrating, once again, that music is also political. On October 18, the Barcelona musician released the clip that accompanies the track “Pol oposat” included in his last album. It is a video made in collaboration with the Catalan filmmaker, Joan Álvarez, member of the Association of Audiovisual Editors of Catalonia, and former schoolmate of Eizaguirre.

“Pol oposat” speaks of the context of social and political polarization in which we find ourselves. The explosion of disorder is presented around a series of images that review many of the main current social problems. Climate change, war escalation or media tension appear related to phenomena such as institutional racism, the tourist massification of cities, macho violence or the loss of popular sovereignty. Different faces of the same crisis.

According to Santi Eizaguirre, it is a song “that talks about how capitalism collides with its limits. Today it is very easy to access quick diagnoses and especially simplistic recipes for very complex problems, such as climate change. Solutions that do not address the causes of what happens to us, or that do not help us to face it…”

The montage, the work of Juan Álvarez, applies the technique of found-footage, digital archaeology and the appropriation of images. It is a remix of fragments of films, newscasts and archival documentaries that has relied above all on the sources offered by online social networks. Eizaguirre, who apart from being a musician works as a sociologist at the university, has been in charge of developing the script for a piece that reflects on the critical moment of change of era in which we find ourselves and that questions the question of social inequality.

“Com un segon origen” is presented in Barcelona on two dates. After selling out the tickets for the October 25th concert at Casa Orlandai, on November 22nd Santi Eizaguirre will repeat the live performance in the Catalan capital, in the Soda Acústic room, in the Gràcia neighbourhood. Tickets are available on the ticketic website.

After more than six years of recording silence and very few live appearances, Santi Eizaguirre returns with new songs. The one who was Cheb Balowski’s guitarist and who has already published two solo albums (“Notícies de Gurb”, 2013; “El secret de les festes”, 2018) has presented, this June, his third studio work: ” Com un segon origen”.
