- Today, the band INCENDI KIF has been unveiled
- With an explosive single and video, they lay the first stone in their journey
- “Treu-me una mica de son” is a fierce cry of self-recognition
INCENDI KIF aims to be a musical jolt of resistance from the rural world against predatory capitalism. The echo of rock resonating through the valleys, the raw poetry rising from the mountains. The silent voice that screams from the most primal instincts of human beings. Art as subversive agitation. Everyone and no one.
They introduce themselves with “Treu-me una mica de son”, their first single and video.
“Treu-me una mica de son” (“Take a little sleep away from me”) embraces contradiction. Asking ourselves why we do the things we do is the first step toward improving as a species. Sometimes it’s worth remembering that humans need to get high, to escape, in order to cope with the anguish of the reality we’re building. And yet, even when we’re aware of this, getting high is still fun—and we keep doing it. But what if all the energy we put into that could instead be channeled into dismantling the arms industry that supplies weapons for the genocide against the Palestinian people?
In the music video, we encounter characters who, through music and movement, dive into a ritual that empowers them to take action.
This is one of INCENDI KIF’s main objectives, and of the cultural front we would love to be part of: we must learn to create and engage in collective rituals that, instead of distancing us from social transformation, make us want to take part in it. Rituals that allow us to be consumed by fire and push us toward action.
