Now available on digital platforms: “Quan sigui al ball, ballaré!”, the latest preview of La Cosina’s upcoming album, set to be released this October.
Set to a pasodoble beat, the group led by accordionist Clara Colom says goodbye to summer from their favorite stage, the town festivals that bring our communities together.
“Quan sigui al ball, ballaré!” (“when I am at the dance floor, I’ll dance”) is an expression deeply rooted in Catalan popular culture. We’ve all heard it at home when facing complicated or intense situations, when there just doesn’t seem to be a clear way forward.
With a festive spirit, the lyrics encourage us to live in the moment, to embrace our connections with others, and to worry less about what’s coming next. In short: when it’s time to suffer, we’ll suffer then!
To round off the production and bring the atmosphere of a traditional festival to life through music and revelry, the Baix Camp based group has teamed up with Banyoles band Germà Negre and the female gralla band Les Antines.
