Incendi Kif present their second single and video

  • Incendi Kif have no social media
  • As a non-urban band, they stand for leaving behind thoughtless progress
  • “Festeig” is a rural ode to collective diversity

After “Treu-me una mica de son“, their first single and video, Incendi Kif present “Festeig“.

The band from inland Catalonia, who keep their distance from social media and advocate abandoning thoughtless progress, return with a kind of violent dialogue between two human beings. “Festeig” (a concept similar to “courtship”) is a homosexual love story between two men trapped by their own masculinity, unable to accept their feelings. It’s the argument within a community unsure of how it wants to live. “Festeig” speaks about us and our inability to communicate. What would happen if, instead of succumbing to capitalism and private property, we shared olive fields?

The song comes with another poetic music video, where (as in “Treu-me una mica de son”) music and contemporary dance go hand in hand. The video stars Patricia Bargalló, a renowned Catalan actress known for her role in the hit series “Merlí”, and features the collaboration of Antxón Gómez, a Goya Award–winning art director. Connecting with the animal nature of agriculture and livestock, it portrays a liberating bodily experience that speaks for itself while serving as the song’s dreamlike landscape.
