Go to the Dogs are a Barcelona band carrying the old soul of rock’n’roll, and they’re back with their second album, “Who cares?“. From the title to the final track, every note is pure Go to the Dogs, wild, unfiltered rock’n’roll.
This second album has its share of surprises — Phil discovering the wah-wah pedal and letting his sharp ear guide him through improvised solos, or Ítalo deciding, somewhere in the middle of a tour across the Iberian Peninsula, that some songs just needed to be sung in Spanish. Beyond that, there’s plenty of rock’n’roll in all its shades, with a bit of everything the band carries inside. Raw, visceral songs with different souls, nods to garage? punk? psychobilly? Maybe, all while staying true to their rock’n’roll roots, picking up new instruments along the way a double bass played by the singer himself, or the saxophone. Alex (bass) and Aaron (drums) remain the engine that holds it all together, though after recording the album, Aaron left the band and has been replaced by Sergi (Motorzombis). And honestly? No big deal… In fact, it turns out Sergi was the drummer they tried to start the band with years ago. Funny how things fall into place.
The album was recorded at Attack1 studios with Marc Gual behind the desk, and packs 10 street-worn, gritty songs that pull you toward that space somewhere between heaven and hell, where Go to the Dogs make you feel alive.
