- Las Búfalo are a new three-woman group from Barcelona

- Starting out from rap and so-called urban music, they take on (almost) anything, distancing themselves from any genre label
Las Búfalo are a new group formed in Barcelona by three young regulars of the city’s underground rap and so-called urban music scene. Seasoned by countless jams and open mics at social centres, squats and neighbourhood parties, Oli, La Kurda and Nyest kept crossing paths, getting to know each other and sharing mics, until the time came to take a collective step and build something new where none of them loses her own personality. They know the power of the collective outweighs the individual, even if it feeds on it. And they’re doing it by leaving their individual comfort zones behind and venturing into unfamiliar territory. But we’ll be talking about all that soon enough, because their debut album is just around the corner: November 20th, to be exact (does the date ring a bell?).
For now, Las Búfalo introduced themselves in early summer with “Modernitas”, and they’ve now released a second single and video, “Arrebato”: two tracks that hint at their drive to break musical moulds and tear down social conventions without a second thought. More to come…
