 La Kinky Beat presenta su tercer disco original: ´Karate Beat´.
Después de ´Made in Barna´ y ´One More Time´ los dos primeros discos; las remezclas ´RMX´ y ´04-06´ la recopilación Mexicana; llega el nuevo terremoto rítmico y la energía desbordante que caracteriza a La Kinky Beat con este nuevo trabajo.
El disco ha estado registrado entre el propio local de ensayo y Sierra Wave Estudios y mezclado analógicamente; a la manera ´tradicional´ por Dive Dibosso.
Entre las colaboraciones podemos adelantar la aportación especial y estelar de Eddv Drammech (7 notas 7 colores) y de Brujo (Bad Sound System).

Zulu 9.30 presenta su nuevo disco "Huellas" |
 Llega el segundo disco de ZULU 9.30, Huellas, grabado y mezclado en BmasB (Barcelona) por Stéphane Carteaux y masterizado en Sterling Sound (Nueva York) por Jay Franco, y editado de nuevo por Kasba Music, con la distribución de K Industria Cultural. Después de tres años paseando su particular AfroLatinReggae por más de 100 escenarios de toda la geografía española y los escenarios más importantes del norte de Europa, con su álbum de debut Conecta o Revienta (2005), el grupo de Barcelona ya tiene preparada una nueva descarga llena de ritmos latinos.
Ellos son hijos del espíritu mestizo, de la samba brasileña, del buen golpe latino, del sonido con alma negra, de la fiesta contagiosa y del buen rollo que desprenden desde hace años vayan donde vayan. Ya sea en el Mundo Caníbal de Cerdanyola, en la Sala Apolo barcelonesa o en el Ámsterdam Roots Festival. La química de Zulú 9.30 fluye, conectando con su energía inagotable y su estilo propio e intransferible.
Oski-jah man canta, compone y piensa… piensa… Kodi, en la retaguardia, le pone lo que hay que poner: voz, guitarra y melodía. Charly, calienta motores de su bajo encendido, mientras Blas y su sandunga entran en juego. Los vientos no cesan, explotan, en las manos de Sergio, Nando y Peter. El tumbao lo lleva Iñaki, al pie del cañón de sus blancas y las negras. Las adquisiciones recién salidas del horno bahiano: Alan De Sousa (percusión) & Ed Moreira (batería). Percutas con madera de ébano, batucando, descargando y poniendo los pelos de punta al personal.
Tras Conecta o Revienta (2005), el disco con el que se comprometieron a llevar un proyecto libre, fresco, entusiasta y riguroso adelante, el grupo ya ha creado una estela en el panorama mestizo barcelonés con proyección internacional fuera de dudas. No hay vuelta atrás. Todas las miradas están fijadas en lo que está por venir.
Huellas es un disco con 12 cortes que muestra la consolidación como banda urbana con ritmos latinos. Cuenta con colaboraciones de lujo, Amparo Sánchez (Amparanoia), Sergio Ramos (Ojos de Brujo), Josep Mas ‘Kitflus’, y repiten Josué García (Muchachito Bombo Infierno) y Paul de Swardt (Macaco) entre otros.

Rabia Positiva presenta "Sentiment, Compromis i Acció" |

Rabia Positiva: “Sentiment, compromís i acció!”.
 Ràbia Positiva celebra els seus 15 anys de trajectòria musical a l’escena hardcore nacional.
Per aquest motiu durant tot el 2007 han preparat, gravat i editat un disc + documental en el qual es recullen imatges, enregistraments en directe, temes inèdits, temes nous i testimonis gràfics d’aquest llarg camí de fons.
“Sentiment, compromís i acció” és el títol que recull i identifica a la perfecció el present treball i la filosofia del grup.
Per tot plegat, tenim el gran plaer de convidar-vos a la presentació als mitjans de comunicació d'aquest projecte, presentació que comptarà amb la presència del seu realitzador Daniel Camon, així com dels propis R+.
Per arrodonir el projecte, tenen previst realitzar una serie de presentacions especials que inclouran per primera vegada una petita actuació en format acústic del grup, a més del passi del documental, i que portaran a aproximadament 15 poblacions del territori, compreses entre l’1 de març i l’11 d’abril.
Aquesta gira de presentacions tindrà el seu punt de sortida a Can Vies, el pròxim 1 de Març.
Precisament els temes del directe i moltes imatges van ser enregistrades al concert aniversari de Can Vies que es va celebrar al CSO Bahia de Sants el passat 12 de maig de 2007.
El disc sortirà al carrer el 25 de febrer, amb distribució de K-Industria.

Kasba Music presents "For Ever" |
 Fufü- Ai presents its second disk, titled “FOR EVER”, a CD with 10 themes that range from the rowdiest rock to the most delicate pop, impregnated with the unrefined, frontier air of Barcelona’s Raval neighbourhood where the group lives. Its tunes are sung principally in French and Spanish.
If with “Petite fleur”, their first album, the group surprised us with their sensuality, with this more mature work, “For Ever”, they have presented a successful project where the sensual pop and the naïve image are preserved, but new proposals are laid out on the table as Fufü- Ai is a humble project forever evolving. With great chameleon like character, Tomas Arroyos “Tomasin” and Anouk Chauvet, the creators of the project, have already presented this year the single and video clip, “La ruta de los elefantes”.
“For ever” counts on a large group of collaborators: Yacine (Nour), Miryam ‘Matahary’ (La Kinky Beat), Joan Garriga (La Troba Kung-fu), Sandro (Macaco), Stefarmo and Baba (Black Baudelaire), among other musicians and friends.
With a careful design based on illustrations by Anouk, the disk includes a fold-out poster of the Fufü- Ai universe.
“Puntitos”, the second cut on the CD, has been chosen to be their first single and video clip from this album.
Once again produced by Tomás Arroyos, producer of their previous disk and guitarist with the group (who has also produced La Kinky Beat and Dusminguet among others), “For ever” was recorded in Kasba’s Studio during the summer of 2007.

Kasba Music presents "Que no s'escapin els gossos" |
 With this peculiar title (Don’t let the dogs escape) Kasba Music presents the debut disk from the group Xazzar, a group composed of students from the ESMUC (Superior School of Music of Catalonia), a young septet winner of the Sona 9 (the most important musical contest in Catalonia) competition in 2006.
The CD introduces 11 themes and a bonus track where they mix oblique melodies initially inspired by Klezmer and folk music with varied rhythms that run from jazz to swing, trotting through to the Charleston and the French Chanson, constituting an original proposal that we could classify as a modern orchestra from the mid-20th Century. The tunes sung in Catalan, Spanish and French are all original compositions by the group characterized by upbeat love themes appropriate for dancing and celebrations.
The album was mixed and recorded in the Music Lan studios in Figueres, Girona, under the production of Jordi Cristau (who has worked with groups like Fito & Fitipaldis, Lluis Llach or Manolo Garcia) and the members of Xazzar.
On the disk we encounter varied musicians and friends collaborating, like: Helena Cases singer of Conxita on tambourine, Jordi Cristau with the chorus, and Francis from Dumbala Canalla on trumpet, among others.

 “Recording” :::: Barcelona resonates reggae.
Kasba Music presents Chalart58´s first solo CD. Chalart58 is a musician from Barcelona, more precisely a drummer/percussionist, who currently is a member of La Kinky Beat, but who has also participated in projects with Radio Bemba, Jaleo Real and Fermín Muguruza Euskal Herria Jamaica Clash.
Chalart58 makes this debut with a selection of his own “riddims”, as it’s Jamaican music that pulses through his veins.
On this occasion he counts on the “worst” from each house: Matahary and Willy Fuego (La Kinky Beat), Rude (Barrio Beat), “Lucky” Hernán (Mamamilotas), Sito (Jaleo Real), Marco Fonktana (Aerolíneas Subterraneas), Sorkun, Dreadgar and Bad Sound System, among others.
“Recording” is the result of 2 years of home-brewed self-production from a mobile studio, taking advantage of the departures and arrivals from the tours, casual encounters, friends and musicians. A story that would not have been completed had it not been for the inestimable assistance and collaboration of: David Bourguignon (Radio Bemba) on guitars, Rubio (Nour, 08001) on guitars, Arecio Smith (Asstrio) and Marcel Lipi (Ranking Soldiers) on keyboards, Willy Fuego on bass and guitars and ‘Lucky’ Hernán on bass.
On this disk you will find 13 themes, mixing reggae riddims and hip hop with variations based on black music, rhythms that range from funk to ragga, in the purist Jamaican style.

"Papier Mullat", Nour first LP |
 A beacon that emits flashes of light.
Nour presents its first disc, Papier Mullat (Wet Paper), with an intoxicating live performance.
Light for the senses in a world where each day it is more important to develop new sensibilities. Music at the speed of light.
Nour is light in Arabic and it is also the name of this excellent band, with seasoned musicians, created by Yacine Belahcene Benet, a singer with Cheb Balowski and an intrepid adventurer in a world of music without borders. Papier Mullat, the first work of this group reflects on the need to go beyond mere declarations and condemn a modern life in which the crude social reality is disguised with sterilized good intentions. A ray of light that warns us about the distorted way in which our society respects differences by declaring that it values diversity without making an effort to recognize inequalities.
Among those that have collaborated on this project are: Joan Garriga (the Kung-fu whirlwind), Lautaro Rosas (Machalah), Massa Kobayashi (Kultur Shock), Mohamed Souleimane (Barcelona Arab Orchestra), Pau Llong and Rodrigo (At Versaris). It is the music of an invisible city that combines the most advanced electronic techniques with more ancestral influences. Meticulous electronic programming explodes with frenetic rhythms, reflecting new urban sounds, and powerful oriental inspired orchestrations. Exquisite guitar riffs and deeply inspired melodic and lyrical work illuminate each song. A striking stage performance contributes to their triumph. The group enjoys the vital explosive power of a live performance and of music as a vehicle of communication. Wet paper ignites, becoming in the essence of pure rock a great ball of fire.

Kasba Music presenta "Omelé" |
 Omelé, el joven grupo de La Garriga y Argentona (Barcelona) presenta su primer disco de título homónimo ”Omelé”. Es un disco muy joven, en el cual encontramos un cóctel de estilos y ritmos de influencia afro-caribeña que van desde ritmos jamaicanos, al son cubano, la salsa, el jazz latino, configurando un sonido y estilo personal que denominan ‘salsa-funk‘.
El disco incluye 13 temas compuestos por los miembros del grupo donde la temática social, el amor, las experiencias personales se funden con el ritmo latino invitándote a la alegría y el optimismo.
Con colaboraciones por parte de Yacine Belahcene (ex- cantante de Cheb Balowski) en la voz y Marc Horne (Kalimba Malinca) en la flauta travesera, la producción ha corrido a cargo de Tomas Arroyos (Color Humano, Fufu-Ai, y productor del ultimo disco de La Kinky Beat).
El grupo se estrenó en los escenarios en 2003 con su participación en el Festival de la Diversidad de Ossona, y desde entonces ha llevado su ritmo a diferentes salas de Cataluña (As de copas, Sala Clap entre otras), Festivales como Festival de Músicas Étnicas Paupaterres en Tarrega, Festival Cruïlla de Culturas en Mataró, e incluso en Turquía donde participaron en el Festival de Música Latina de Bodrum.
Omelé es un soplo de aire fresco, de onda positiva y buenas vibraciones en el que el ritmo calentito y sabrosón te envuelve de tal manera que no permitirá que estés quieto.

"Baleike", Sagarroi new LP |
 To play the ups and downs of melancholia and euphoria is something that I have only heard Iñigo Muguruza, perfect with the help of Asier Ituarte, a trombonist without rival, and old partner in the age of Joxe Ripiau. The results are spectacular. Their impressive compositions and melodies are supported by a consolidated base rhythm produced by Carlos Zubikoa and Gorka Baskaran who have developed a simple and effective contribution to the band with a contagious beat that is recognizable as nothing other than Sagarroi.
But that’s not all. While we are well accustomed to collaborations at this level with the band (with the likes of Amparanoia, The Solanos and Andoni Delirium), on “Baleike” the band introduces a new feminine voice, Miren Gaztañaga, who has already performed with the group in its most recent live performances. Moreover on this album, without a doubt Sagarroi´s best to date, we also hear Asier on keyboards and Gorka driving the percussion.
All the blame can be given to 10 songs, and in Sagarroi´s case these songs stand up in bold type like hieroglyphics. Sagarroi creates songs from beginning to end, like “Korsario modernoak”, a cumbia-ska that is already a signature with the group, or “Kaos artistikoa”, a new accelerated ska in the band’s own “farrantxi” style. Songs like “Siesta”, a Hendrix style reggae cut, are marked by the characteristic unbridled guitar of Iñigo, while “Viasconen ragga-runba” provides, for the first time, a more profound exploration of Mediterranean sound. Then there is “Bihotzaren minean”…
And once again we hear the references, a wink of appreciation, intimations in a lyric to the movies, the lives of band members, fatherhood, and the endless influences that have given form to all that this disc is and that makes this album part of something bigger.
“Baleike”, is possible: a more humane society, to do away with loneliness and death, to defeat the brutality of capitalism –each day more brutal than the last- the atrocious consumerism… in the end, if we find ourselves beaten, it will not be because we didn’t try. |
